“Nothing is what it seems!” – Walter Burke (Al Pacino), The Recruit In the mediocre-at-best spook movie ‘The Recruit’, CIA chief trainer Water Burke (Al Pacino) kept reminding his new recruits that in the CIA, “Nothing is what it seems!” In other words, everything is an eyewash, what you see and what you have been told is…
…Continued from Part -1 Ring-Ring-Ring-Ring!! The music/loan-sale/importance reminder routine came to an abrupt end. The sound of the phone ringing at the other end, the fruit of all my hard work, rudely shook me out of my reverie on how I would accomplish the second and more treacherous part of my mission. The machine had been won over, now…
“Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to navigate through the ‘customer care’ innovation of a leading ‘international’ bank and get to talk to a human, make them understand a problem and get it resolved successfully, while staying sane and not using words like ‘supervisor’, ‘consumer court’, general swear words etc. Good luck!” (“This message will…

It is a considerable #WIN on many fronts that Indians have taken to reading in droves, again. As I have said in Part 1, (Suggest you go through it, if you havent) a large chunk of the thanks for this has to go to Chetan Bhagat and the other pop-culture type novelists. There is no denying…
So the other day someone said: “The timeline of the history of Indian Fiction can be divided into two: Before Chetan Bhagat and After Chetan Bhagat”. Quite a statement to make, considering the fact that the only other major figure in history who had enough clout to split the timeline of anything was Jesus Christ. But…
The Use and User of Credit Cards – Lifecycle Click on the chart to enlarge, uh, view the chart in a larger screen. Hey, it is easy! You will be screwed any which way. This is the kind of chart you were not taught in IIM (Or any other ‘B-School’). This is real-life management, baby! Infinitely more useful than…
I had initially planned to include this in Part 1 (Read) but this better be treated as a separate unit. The flawless plan of action which can tie…

And have a plan to achieve it. But since Hollywood has shown us that plain old terrorism, nuclear weapons and space-time-morphing…

Mr. Joel Stein wrote an article on how his childhood town (Edison, NJ) has been ‘invaded’ by Indians and has become unrecognizeable from how it was when he grew up there. TIME published the article and all holy hell broke…
Nope. It did not happen. The colors the World would turn into were to be Red and Gold. Not Orange. Heartbreak. Again. The Dutch with not losing a single game all along the qualification and the finals stumbled where it mattered, forgot to play football, lost against a side which actually played football and ended their campaign in tears. Defeat…
